Welcome to the 外网天堂 Psychiatry Residency in Lubbock!
We鈥檙e excited to have you explore what makes our program special. Psychiatry residency is a four-year training program, and during this time, our residents benefit from a thoughtfully designed curriculum that builds progressively each year in both complexity and depth.
As a mid-sized residency, we provide a supportive and close-knit environment, with training at top-tier institutions like the University Medical Center, Sunrise Canyon Hospital, the Health Sciences Center, Covenant Medical Center, and Covenant Children鈥檚 Hospital. Our program offers a balanced mix of hands-on patient care and enriching didactics for a well-rounded education.
Our diverse faculty bring expertise in subspecialties such as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Neuromodulatory treatments. Our residents learn from some of the best in the field.
The goal of our Psychiatry Residency is to equip residents with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes for a successful career in psychiatry. Through a progressive series of clinical, educational, and scholarly experiences, we integrate biological, psychological, and social factors to help residents gain a comprehensive understanding of psychiatric disorders.
Residents participate in clinical and educational activities like Case Conferences, Journal Clubs, and scholarly projects, as well as weekly didactic courses designed to enhance their clinical training. Our program emphasizes integrating the art and science of psychiatry, tailored to each resident鈥檚 level of training.
We鈥檙e particularly proud of the strong research support available, with access to the 外网天堂 Clinical Research Institute and dedicated faculty to guide residents, helping them contribute to advancements in the field.
