By Shannon Stuemke with Ears of Experience![]() I bet you think it is too late to plan that Fall and early Winter Walt Disney World Vacation®. Don't fret! There is still time to plan and still availability for the months of September, October, November, and December. Hurry though, because those major holidays are coming up fast and rooms will start to become more and more limited! The Fall and early Winter season are a great time to visit Walt Disney World®! There is so much festivity during this time, and you don't want to miss out. Let me break down what will be going on and what you can expect as far as crowds for the remaining months of this year. September and October In my opinion, you can't beat the month of September. Crowds are low so you get to see and do a lot! It is still very warm but it seems so much more manageable when the crowds are not heavy. Hard to believe, but the week of Labor Day is actually very low crowd wise. When my family visited last September, we were able to do our Fast Passes and then get right back in the stand by lines and do the ride again with having hardly any wait. The longest we waited for any ride without a Fast Pass was 45 minutes and that was not typical. Another bonus...prices are on the low end of the spectrum during September. You will see mostly value pricing. So with low crowds and lower pricing, you get so much bang for your buck in September! I love Fall and September starts off the Fall season at Walt Disney World®. You will see beautiful decor and all the tastes and scents that come with the season. Other festivities take place as well! Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party takes place from very late August until very early November. This party is nothing less than "spooktacular". It is a special ticketed event that takes place a select evenings at Magic Kingdom. You get to enjoy low crowds during the event because a limited amount of tickets are sold. Characters that are not normally available to meet and greet come out on party nights. Want to Trick-or-Treat in the Magic Kingdom? You can do that! Enjoy the special Boo to You Halloween Parade with the Headless Horseman starting off the show , and the Happy Hollowishes Fireworks Show. There is just so much fun to be had! Looking for some grown up fun in the Fall? How about trying the International Food and Wine Festival at Epcot from August 31st to November 13th, 2017. It is a celebration of global cuisine! There are 35 food kiosks available with food and wine from all over the world. Meet famous chefs from around the world or participate in culinary classes (additional cost may apply). Have dinner and then be entertained by some of your favorite musicians at the Eat to the Beat concert series. The International Food and Wine Festival is perfect October, used to be one of the best months to visit Walt Disney World®. The weather was a little cooler and the crowds a little smaller. I still have a lot of clients who will say they want to visit in October because they have heard how great it is. The thing is, October has become a busy month. The parks can get really crowded. This is mostly because many schools now take Fall break in October. The busiest week of October is around Columbus day weekend so if you still have your heart set on October, try at the very least to avoid this week. If you must visit during the week of Columbus Day, have a great park plan (Hint. Hint.), There is still plenty of fun to be had as long as you have planned ahead! Update! Great new holiday events offered for the 2017 holiday season at Walt Disney World®! 09/18/17 (see below) November and December The holiday season at Disney is nothing less than phenomenal. The weather has cooled down and the decorations have been hung by the chimney with care. You can even find a few weeks when the crowds are very lite! As you can imagine, the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas are not lite crowd weeks! If you think Walt Disney World® is already magical, wait until you see it decked out for the holidays! Every park is lit up in the most beautiful decor imaginable. The resorts have some of the most wonderful holiday treats on display. The Christmas trees decorated in a variety of cultural traditions are spectacular! Want to take a ride in a one horse open sleigh? You can do that too! The magic is truly endless during this time of year. Not be shown up by the Fall season, the winter season at Magic Kingdom also has its own party that takes place on select evenings in November and December. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party helps make the season even merrier! Snow in Florida? Yep! Take a walk down Main Street USA and walk through a snowy, winter wonderland. Eat some very yummy Christmas treats that are included in the admission price! Special holiday shows go on during the event along with Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade. Don't forget about the special fireworks show and Cinderella's Castle that is adorned in lights that make it look even more majestic! ***As of 9/18/17 here are some of the new events that will take place at Walt Disney World® this holiday season!*** Sunset Season Greetings at Hollywood Studios- This event takes place nightly from 11/9 through 12-31.
