8/29/2016 0 Comments Romance at Walt Disney World ® ?![]() My husband and I are less than a week out from celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary at Walt Disney World®. We are pretty excited! This will be our first long trip away from our five year old twin girls. Now before anyone starts judging me for not taking my princess loving daughters to Disney World ® let me say this...we took them there last year for their 4th birthdays and spent a week seeing nothing but princesses, Disney Jr. ® related attractions, and making memories (and tantrums) that will last a lifetime! Next year, we have tentative plans to go on our first Disney® Cruise as a family as well. But I digress...so we are less than a week out from spending some much needed alone time together. Some may (and have) ask why in the world are you spending your 20th anniversary in Walt Disney World®? I venture to guess that many find the idea of Mickey Mouse® ears, roller coasters, and lots and lots of families with small children not at all romantic. I can understand that...really, I can! I would call my trip last year with my children less than romantic! Being camped out in a hotel room for a week with one 4 year old sleeping in bed with me and the other 4 year old sleeping in bed with my husband is for sure not the picture of romance! This, though, is a different type of trip. We are going to relive the honeymoon trip that we took to Walt Disney World® when we were practically kids ourselves! So what is there to do in Disney World® when you don't have kids? Is it really a destination for romance? The answer is undeniably, yes! From watching fireworks together in front of Cinderella's castle to taking a horse drawn carriage ride around Port Orleans Resort Riverside, there are plenty of opportunities for couples to relax, unwind, and just be. (Side note-As I sit here and write this, one of my 5 year old daughters is standing in front of me insisting that it is not her bedtime (9 p.m.) I know I will be eager and ready to come back to her and her sister by the end of our anniversary trip next week. For now though, as I make my third trip back to the bedroom with her, I think to myself, ONLY 5 more days until I have a week off from this bedtime routine stuff!) I have my romantic must sees and dos for next week all figured out and I can't wait to share these with you on my Facebook page and website. navigatetheear.com is not affiliated with, authorized or endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with, The Walt Disney Company
